Jim Slama founded FamilyFarmed at a time when few people recognized the term “Good Food movement.” Over his more than two decades of leadership, FamilyFarmed has served an important catalyst in the booming, consumer-driven rise of the movement. FamilyFarmed works across the Good Food spectrum — with farmers, processors, buyers, sellers, investors, consumers and advocates — to expand markets for food produced as locally as possible using sustainable, humane and fair practices. Slama’s vision has resulted in cutting edge events and programs such as the annual Good Food EXPO and Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference, the Good Food Accelerator, Farmer Training workshops, and emerging platforms such as Good Food Is Good Medicine and the Organic Grain Promotion Initiative.
